Nil Research Poll Methodology

Uncovering NIL Insights to Empower Student-Athletes and Stakeholders

Our NIL Research Poll provides essential data to help student-athletes, universities, brands, and other stakeholders better understand the ever-evolving Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) landscape. With a focus on accuracy, inclusivity, and meaningful insights, we’re here to support informed NIL decisions.

Research Objectives

Our NIL Research Poll aims to:

  • Gauge Student-Athlete Perspectives: Understand how athletes feel about NIL opportunities.

  • Identify Knowledge Gaps: Find where more NIL resources are needed.

  • Track Program Effectiveness: Discover trends and assess how current NIL initiatives work.

Target Population

Our surveys reach a diverse group:

  • Broad Representation: Includes student-athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III across all sports.

  • Focus on DI and Non-Revenue Sports: With special attention on mid-major DI schools and Olympic sports, our sample represents around 5,000 current college athletes and 1,000 high school prospects aiming to join DI programs.

Survey Design

Collecting Focused, Valuable Data

Our survey questions are designed to capture NIL engagement, experiences, and awareness through clear, structured questions that yield quantifiable insights.

Sampling Method

Ensuring Representation

We use a stratified sampling method to capture perspectives across:

  • Sport

  • Gender

  • Academic Year

This approach helps ensure our data reflects a broad student-athlete community.

Data Collection Process

Protecting Privacy and Accuracy

  • Surveys are sent directly to participants, and full confidentiality is assured.

  • Responses are anonymized and used strictly for research purposes to safeguard participant privacy.

Data Analysis

Turning Data into Actionable Insights

Our team applies statistical methods, including:

  • Descriptive Analysis: Summarizes key findings.

  • Inferential Analysis: Highlights trends and correlations that matter most to stakeholders.

These methods allow us to uncover deep insights into the NIL landscape.
