Hi – I’m Bill Carter. I help universities, student-athletes, brands, and professional service providers to achieve their NIL goals through live workshops, self-paced courses, consulting, and my NIL/edu newsletter.

Over the last two decades in the sports industry, I founded two companies past a $20 million valuation, have taught sports marketing at three major universities, and have written extensively for Sports Business Journal.

  • Who’s been teaching in Higher Ed for decades, beginning at NYU, then St. John’s (NYC), and now at the business school at the University of Vermont where I teach one of the first courses on NIL

Empowering college student-athletes to take control of their NIL journey with the three steps that correlate to landing their first deal.

Why it matters: This curriculum focuses exclusively on helping student-athletes to achieve their #1 goal of landing their first NIL deal. Student-Athletes learn the steps of building a personal brand for NIL, establishing NIL-centric social media, and learning to sell their NIL for brand partnerships.

What’s Included: 70 minute self-paced course comprised of video lessons lasting 3-6 minutes each; course includes the "Game Plan Workbook”, packed with checklists to keep student-athletes on track, prompts to help reflect on their personal brand and social media, and templates to make the whole process easier.

NIL Office Hours: For universities who want additional support for their student-athletes, I offer “NIL Office Hours.” These are live, recurring monthly video calls where your institution’s student-athletes join the call and I provide help with the Game Plan Workbook, support as they build their NIL plans, or answers to any of their NIL questions.
