about me

NIL CONSULTANT WITH 25 YEARS IN THE SPORTS INDUSTRY

I am not an NIL "advocate,” but an “analyst” who provides facts and data that help universities and their student-athletes, brands, and sports organizations to learn, adapt, or capitalize on NIL. Prior to launching Student-Athlete Insights in 2019, I was a SportsBusiness Journal Forty Under 40 Award winner and the co-founder & partner at the marketing agency Fuse.

LECTURER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT BUSINESS SCHOOL

I teach Name, Image, and Likeness at the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont. My NIL class was among the first in the country and the only one taught at one of the top 5% of business schools worldwide (accredited by AACSB.) The course is a forum for some of the most prominent agents, attorneys, AD’s, student-athletes, and other professionals in the NIL industry.

NIL COLUMNIST FOR SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL

For the leading publication in the sports industry - Sports Business Journal - I write a monthly column called NIL Corner. Using results from Student-Athlete Insights’ NIL Research Poll, each month NIL Corner goes beyond the headlines about “deals” and compensation to discuss the data, trends, and people of this emerging sector.

THE PREEMINENT NIL DATA IN THE SPORTS INDUSTRY

My NIL Research Poll is a monthly survey from a proprietary community of 5,000 college student-athletes and 1,000 high school prospects. It’s the largest on-going study of its kind. But what makes the NIL Research Poll unique isn’t just its size and frequency of data collection, but its focus on the NIL experience of student-athletes.
